Last year I paddled Arizona’s Verde River in my TRAK folding kayak. This year I returned to the Verde, this time with Mary and our friends Renee and Dan, each of us in rented inflatable kayaks provided by Verde Adventures. From the river access at Clear Creek to the take-out at Beasley Flat, it’s a scenic, mostly calm 4.5-mile section of the river with a few fun riffles along the way. Our shuttle driver, Kenny, regaled us with stories about the river and the area, and Thomas gave the group paddling tips at the put-in. Here’s a short video of the adventure.
